Dr Pepper Barbecue Grilled Chicken

Dr Pepper Basting Sauce

2 x 1 Mixture

  • 1 Cup of your Favorite Barbecue Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup of Dr Pepper
  • Whisk together to create basting sauce and store in fridge until ready to use

Chicken Marinade

  • 1/4 Cup of Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Cup of Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tspn of Salt
  • 1 Tspn of Black Pepper
  • 1 Tspn of Onion Powder
  • 1 Tspn of Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tspn of Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Tspn of Paprika
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl with a container or ziplock bag
  2. Place chicken breast (4) in bowl or bag and let marinate in fridge for at least an hour
  3. Start your grill and create a cool zone, where there will be no coals to burn your chicken, by pushing hot coals to 1/3 side of our grill
  4. When ready to grill; remove chicken from marinade and place directly on grill
  5. Grill for 5 minutes and then flip.  You will grill each side for 5 minutes and continue to turn for 25-30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 175 degrees
  6. After the first 10 minutes, each side has had a chance to grill for 5 minutes. Place chicken on the cool zone of your grill (off main coals) and start basting with the Dr Pepper Basting Sauce
  7. After each turn continue to baste your chicken until done.
  8. Allow chicken to rest for 8-10 minutes before you begin to cut and serve
